Orthopedics and Trauma
Prof. Dr.
Patric Garcia
Prof. Dr. Patric Garcia was born in Germany, where he also completed his education. His academic journey began at Saarland University, where, under the guidance of Prof. Tim Pohlemann, he specialized in pelvic and acetabular surgery. Scientifically, he dedicated himself to studying fracture healing mechanisms, particularly the treatment of pseudarthrosis.
At Münster University, he continued his work in treating complex fractures, hip fractures, and pseudarthrosis, establishing a specialized consultation for these cases. Dr. Garcia has published numerous articles on fracture treatment and developed the concept of the “Biological Knife,” aimed at improving and promoting fracture healing through biological methods such as pharmacological treatments, stem cells, and physical chemistry. As a member of the “Biomaterials Task Force” (International AO), he has significantly contributed to the development of state-of-the-art biomaterials.

At the same time, Dr. Garcia continued his dedication to pelvic surgery, particularly hip prosthetics for traumatic and degenerative conditions such as osteoarthritis. With advancements in surgical techniques, he began implanting hip prostheses in the anterior area. This method, known as AMIS, allows implantation without muscle strain, resulting in faster recovery, shorter hospital stays, and quicker patient mobilization, enabling them to walk and travel just a few days after surgery.
In addition to his work in Spain, Prof. Dr. Garcia holds the Chair of Traumatology at Münster University in Germany. He continues to work there as a trauma surgeon and educator, teaching medical students.
